Forgot password? Click here to recover. What is Password Gate? Password Gate allows you to protect your webpages by allowing only certain users to view them, by entering login info you provide.
How does it work? Let's say you have a webpage called mywebpage.html, located on your site called mysite.com, and you would like only certain people to be able to view it. You can place a login box using the provided code somewhere on another page, and when an allowed user enters the correct username and password, they will be automatically directed to the page through password-gate.com. They won't even know that your protected page is called mywebpage.html, because Password Gate retrieves the page and displays it for you!
How secure is this? Nobody can view a page if they don't know where it is. That's the real beauty of Password Gate, because even allowed users will not know the name of your protected page, or even where on the internet it is located! When a user enters the correct login information, Password Gate retrieves the page and displays it for you!
Do I need a seperate login box for each protected page? No, not at all. Password Gate will direct users to the correct protected page based on their login information. You could have a user named John being directed to mywebpage.html, while a user named Mary would be directed to a completely different page! You can set up these different login settings in Manage User Accounts.
What are the Pro features? A regular Password Gate account gives you basically all the same functions as a Pro account, except there will be a small ad displayed at the bottom of your protected page. A Pro account is ad-free. With a Pro account you can also customize login errors of your users. As well, a Pro account gives you a unique password-gate.com address for your users to log in to, instead of having to display the login box on your own web site.
How do I upgrade to Pro? Simply go to to the main page at password-gate.com and click Upgrade To Pro. You can choose 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. We currently accept PayPal and StormPay. When you upgrade, your custom settings and the code will not change.
Nothing happens when I click on the Color Picker. In the Settings section, there are links to a color box you can use to customize your login box. You need to have javascript enabled in your browser in order for these to work.
How do I set a background image for the login box? Simply enter the url of an online image, and click "Save". Please note that the image must be linkable. Some websites have hotlink prevention on their images, which means you will not be able to display an image from that site as your background.

Once you've signed up with password-gate.com, you are ready to start protecting your pages.
Step 1 Go to Manage Accounts, create a username and passord, and enter the address of the protected webpage you would like that user to view. You can create as many accounts as you'd like, and each user will be redirected to the protected webpage you have assigned them.
Step 2 Go to the Settings page to customize the look of your login box. You can use the color selectors provided, or simply enter the values which correspond to the colors of the webpage your login box will be on. Click save, then go to the Preview page to see how it looks. You can always go back to the Settings page to change the colors you have selected.
Step 3 This is for Pro users only. Go to the Customize Login Error page. When someone enters incorrect login information, they will be directed to an error page. You can leave it at the default setting, or you can enter a custom message here. You can use html tags to format the way your message looks.
Step 4 Go to Copy/Paste code. Inside the form field will be the code you can put on a webpage to display the login box. Highlight the code with your cursor, then right-click it and select "copy". You can then paste this code somewhere inside a webpage wherever you would like the login box to appear. Alternatively, on the Preview page, Pro users will be given a unique password-gate.com address they can send to users, or display as a link. The login box will then appear on it's own page, located at Password Gate.
Step 5 That's it! You can now password protect as many pages as you'd like, with as many users as you'd like. Hope you enjoy our service, and thank you for using Password Gate!
